Story
Designing For Possibility
Firstborn Daughter was founded on the idea of becoming the cool older sister we wished we had to look to for inspo. Confident, independent, unapologetic, and really well dressed. A love letter to individuality and the freedom to reinvent yourself, FBD is rooted in the belief that personal style should never be confined to a single version of who you are.
We design for possibility.
Through modular design, our pieces are made to unzip, reconnect, and transform, inviting you to take part in the creative process. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to offer more ways to wear, and fewer reasons to look at a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear.
OUR FOUNDER
Meet Samantha
As a woman bored of all the clothes in her overflowing closet, Samantha Campbell started Firstborn Daughter as a way to get excited about her wardrobe again.
With a background in creative marketing, and a passion for personal style, Samantha wanted to create a collection that did more with less. She imagined a dress that could change just as often as the girl wearing it.
Fabrication & Sustainability
Quality design starts with quality materials. At FBD, every detail is considered, from the fabrics we source to the way each piece is constructed. Our signature collection is crafted from organic cotton sourced from Japan, chosen for its beautiful structure, natural feel, and lasting quality.
Produced in small batches in Los Angeles, each garment is thoughtfully developed with an emphasis on craftsmanship, versatility, and longevity. Our approach to sustainability starts with a simple idea: a wardrobe should do more with less. Through modular design, interchangeable pieces, and a pre-order production model, we're rethinking how clothing can be worn, loved, and reinvented.
We're not here to pretend fashion is perfect. We're a small, independent label committed to making thoughtful choices, reducing unnecessary production, and doing better as we grow. Because the most sustainable wardrobe is one you'll actually want to keep wearing.
